Bienvenue à “La Vigne”. Nous vous invitons à passer des vacances reposantes dans notre charmant gîte situé près de Fougères dans le village de St Etienne en Coglès, Bretagne (Ille et Vilaine). Notre location est disponible à la semaine ou pour un week-end.

Welcome to “La Vigne”. We invite you to spend some quality time in our charming 18th century cottage in the village of St Etienne en Coglès. We are located in the department of Ille et Vilaine in the beautiful region of Brittany, close to the historic town of Fougères. We offer year round availability for long or short breaks.

The Gite

The property, suitable for 2-4 people, is close to the Anglo/ French owners and accommodation comprises:-
• Open plan living/dining area and seating area (with TV, DVD player, English satellite TV and radio)
• Fully equipped kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine in adjacent building.)

• Large sleeping area with king-size bed and convertible double sofa-bed, books, games and DVDs.
• The bathroom has bath with shower, sink, w.c. and towel rail.

• Outside there is a private terrace with BBQ, table and chairs.
• Large enclosed children’s play area (shared with owners) including swings, slide, see-saw, playhouse and more.
• Off-road parking in gated driveway.
• Baby/toddler equipment available on request.

Our property is only a few minutes walk from village amenities (supermarket, pharmacy, bakers, hairdresser, doctor etc). Nearby Fougères with its famous mediaeval castle is a must for visitors and there are plenty more historical towns such as Dinan, Dol-de Bretagne, Combourg and Vitré within easy striking distance. The world-renowned site of Mont St Michel is just a 30 minute journey from the property. Sandy beaches, secluded coves and pretty coastal villages with delicious seafood restaurants are also within easy reach as are the popular resorts of St Malo, Cancale and Granville.

Le logement permet d’accueillir confortablement de 2 à 4 personnes (70 m2) et offre les prestations suivantes :-

• Séjour avec salon, TV et DVD.
• Coin-cuisine toute équipée (table de cuisson, four, micro-ondes, lave-vaiselle). Un lavelinge est aussi disponible (en annexe).
• Une grande chambre avec un lit double (king-size) et une banquette clic-clac.

• Bibliothèque et DVD-thèque.
• Salle de bain avec bain/douche, wc et lavabo.
• Terrasse privative avec table, chaises et barbecue.
• Aire de jeu pour enfants (partagé avec le propriétaire) avec balançoires, toboggan, maisonnette ainsi que de nombreux jeux et jouets.
• Parking privatif.

• Equipement pour bébé / jeune enfant (chaise haute, bain, berceau, etc.) disponible sur demande.

Le gîte est situé en bordure de village, les commerces (Coccimarket, boulangerie, pharmacie, etc.) sont à quelques minutes de marche. Notre proximité de l’A84 (2km) permet de rayonner facilement dans toute la région pour des excursions.

La ville de Fougères toute proche, avec son fameux château médiéval est une attraction de premier ordre. Bien sur les citées de caractère comme Vitré, Combourg, Dinan, Dol de Bretagne contribuent à l’intérêt touristique de ce coin de Bretagne. Il n’est plus besoin de mentionner le célébrissime Mont St-Michel à 30 minutes de route.

Tariffs for 2010

We will always endeavour to offer you value for money without compromising on quality. We appreciate that your hard-earned money doesn't go as far these days, so we have not increased our prices for the forthcoming year. The good news is that our prices now include all bed linen and towels (except beach towels) reflecting the needs of our customers. Should you wish to provide your own linen, a discount of £25/30 Euros will be deducted from the charges. Prices also include all heating, water, electricity, all cleaning materials, some dishwasher tablets, wash powder, washing-up liquid, toilet rolls (4 rolls), and some basic items such as cling film, kitchen roll, salt, pepper, olive oil etc.

Access to “La Vigne” is easy from the UK via French ports of Caen or Cherbourg respectively 1 1/2 hour and 2 hours drive alternatively we are 45 min from St Malo airport. The village of St Etienne en Cogles is just off junction 30 of the A84 motorway.

L’accès à “La Vigne” est extrêmement aisé (2km) depuis la sortie N°30 (St Etienne en Coglès) sur l’A84.

Blah, blah blah, we know that this isn't the most exciting of subjects but it is a necessary evil to keep us all above board and ship-shape and to ensure that all our customers enjoy their time at Gite La Vigne. De l'eau chaude grâce au Soleil !!!

Nous avons équipé le Gîte et la maison principale d'une installation solaire. Cette dernière permet de faire l'eau chaude sanitaire ainsi qu'un appoint du chauffage central, ce dernier étant assuré par une pompe à chaleur Air/Eau. L'intégration des 10 m2 de panneaux solaires thermique au sein du toit est exemplaire et a fait l'objet d'une visite de FR3 Bretagne en Octobre 2007 sur recommendation de l'ADEME.

Tentastic news! Gite La Vigne is now equipped with a three-person tent, so if your young adventurers fancy a night away without being out of sight, they can camp out in the garden. We can provide all the necessary bedding - please request at the time of booking.

Organic Fruit & Veggies are Go!

For the second year running the veggie patch is looking good and we are now flush with lettuce and raddishes. The spuds, beans, carrots, beetroot, courgettes and pumpkins are also doing well. Meanwhile, in the "Avenue des Fruits", we are looking forward to a bumper crop of apples, cherries, blackcurrants, pears, strawberries, blueberries, redcurrants and raspberries. We hope to be able to offer our clients samples of our crops during their stay, depending on season and production.
